About Abundance

Hey there!

I am sitting in my Seattle apartment in the midst of a deep depression, life- was meaningless and I was at the worst life-satisfaction I had ever experienced. I was out of shape, in huge debt, going through a divorce and had no close friends.

After sitting with a counselor she encouraged me to reflect on my values and I did. Self-improvement became my number one value and I vowed to pursue it for the rest of my life.

I began with the usual – workouts, healthier food choices, reading, etc. And after a long journey with alot of ups and downs and more downs than ups, I finally achieved “success”. I was in shape, had a good career, had the girl, etc.

Uh Oh! Why do I still feel unsatisfied? I am happy but there is still a deep emotional hole.

Then that’s when the burning question pops in my head. “ What does it mean to become the best version of myself?” I have been pursuing self-improvement for years now with no clear goal or measurement, it is clearly is more than just getting fit and making good money.

Enter the Life Satisfaction Test. Behind its creation lies an intricate web of research and dedication, but for you? It’s as simple as answering a few questions.

I welcome you on a journey tailor-made for you. Ready to uncover the best version of yourself?

Who we are

At the heart of our endeavor lies a community of seekers, dreamers, and doers. We are a collective of individuals who value self-improvement and introspection, bound together by a shared quest: understanding and enhancing our life satisfaction.

Beyond just a test, we're an ever-growing family. A mix of thinkers, researchers, mentors, and most importantly, everyday people like you. People who have faced ups and downs, victories, and struggles, yet hold onto the belief that there's always room for growth and betterment.

In this space, judgment fades away. Instead, there's understanding, empathy, and a burning desire to elevate one another. As we journey through the maze of life, we recognize the importance of having a guiding framework and the power of collective wisdom. We're here not just to find our individual paths but to light the way for others.

Together, we strive, we learn, we evolve. Because at the end of the day, life's satisfaction isn't just about personal fulfillment; it's about enriching the world around us.

Research Used

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Derived from Abraham Maslow's groundbreaking work, this theory proposes a tiered framework of human needs. From basic physiological necessities to the pinnacle of self-actualization, it's a foundational concept that emphasizes the journey of holistic human growth and self-fulfillment. Ryan & Deci’s Self-Determination Theory At the crossroads of motivation and psychological well-being, Ryan & Deci’s Self-Determination Theory sheds light on human behavior's innate, evolved aspects. It underlines the importance of autonomy, competence, and relatedness in fostering optimal human development and wellness. Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorem Venturing into theoretical mathematics, Kurt Gödel's Incompleteness Theorems confront the limitations and boundaries of formal systems. It hints at the inherent gaps in our knowledge systems, reinforcing the idea that 'one size doesn't fit all' when understanding life satisfaction. Boyd’s OODA Loop John Boyd's OODA Loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) breaks down decision-making in high-stress scenarios. A key framework from military strategy, it emphasizes adaptability, rapid iteration, and the necessity of continuous feedback loops in navigating life's challenges. Research on Flow Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s concept of 'Flow' dives into those magical moments where we are fully immersed and engaged in an activity. This state of optimal experience, where skills align perfectly with challenges, gives profound insights into peak performance and life satisfaction. Donald Hoffman’s Argument Against Reality Venturing into cognitive science's depths, Donald Hoffman challenges our perceptions of objective reality. By arguing that our perceptions are more about survival than truth, Hoffman's research encourages a deep introspection into the constructs that shape our understanding of life satisfaction. Through this eclectic blend of theories and research, our Life Satisfaction Test offers a nuanced, multidimensional perspective on individual well-being. We believe in empowering individuals with a balanced blend of ancient wisdom, modern science, and groundbreaking thought to embark on their unique journey of self-discovery.
